99 times out of 100, the use of the word "traitor" is pure hyperbole. But the Confederacy were traitors, full stop.

620,000 men died in the Civil War. You will never erase what happened and why would you try? I have yet to meet a single slave in my lifetime from America. This does nothing to make us a better society. As a black male I would prefer to be judged on my character. But that is me. The civil war was not just about slavery and there were a lot of black slave owners at the end.
