2. Our own property can be taken from us if we don't pay property tax
3. Our healthcare costs are twice the next country cost and we're 13th in quality
4. Both Dems and Repubs have succeeded in dividing us so that we may not come together to protest and demand change
5. We are allowing other nations to flood us with disinformation and conspiracy theory
6. We tie healthcare insurance to jobs so no one dares quit and move on
7. Both parties have succeeded in finding scape goats for us to be angry at, to divert blame

Yeah, it's suggesting free stuff is a way to reel people in, which is different but
I do think we're pretty naive if we believe people aren't controlling us already.

I want lower healthcare costs. Not just an end to increases but a reversal. A reversal that is at least half of our overall costs. That would tie us with the next most expensive nation in the world.

Everyone receives care so everyone should pay for it. Not just people with insurance.

Wanting that/saying that, doesn't mean I'm a socialist. It means I want more freedom, not less.

Government can’t lower the “cost” of healthcare without also lowering the quality and/or restricting access. The one thing they might be able to do is put limits on malpractice lawsuits. A government controlled healthcare system will only increase costs since the US government is a huge bureaucracy. They can’t even manage to keep their monopoly on first class mail profitable.

Forcing other people to pay for healthcare of those who can’t afford to isn’t lowering the cost of healthcare. It’s just transferring the financial responsibility to someone else.

I don't really care how it happens but it has to happen.

Do it the Republican way,
1. Outlaw employer healthcare, forcing everyone to buy their own policies
2. Require prices on EVERYTHING. Ain't nobody buying a used car not knowing the price of it. Why do we do that with healthcare?
3. Institute a color coded rating system, the brighter red, the more expensive hospital/procedure, the higher number, the best outcome, for example. Require the color code outside the hospital and for everything requiring signing off on.

Virtually anyone in an accident will be treated in an emergency room. Automatic treatment means everyone should have to pay into the system, short maybe those who are already on gov assistance who are already covered anyway.

That's the main reason I can't understand people on the right who are against the ACA penalty payment. Basically, that's like being for a free handout.

Like I said, government can’t lower the cost - Republican, Democrat or otherwise. The one thing they can do is possibly shut down frivolous malpractice lawsuits where lawyers and individuals try to win themselves money from “rich doctors”. This is one of the main causes of high healthcare costs. Malpractice insurance premiums are outrageous and guess who pays for it . . . We do.

Another thing government can do is make health insurance premiums more competitive by allowing us to purchase coverage from companies in other states. But this doesn’t do anything to lower the cost.

It’s funny how we don’t think anything of the millions of dollars movie stars and sports figures make. But when we hear how much some doctors make, we think it’s outrageous- ignoring how much time and effort they had to put in just to get an MD degree, then residency, continuing education, etc. if anyone s deserves to make millions, it’s doctors who save lives, not movie stars or sports heros. Our priorities are messed up.
