I don't think there is a single novel that covers the current World condition but Orwell's 1984 is pretty much spot on. I'll have to reread Huxley to get a refresh on Brave New World
Admittedly, I would say 1984 is an uncomfortably accurate picture of places like Russia, China, and (certainly) North Korea. Too much of the world is backsliding into authoritarianism.
And always remember that they make their changes incrementally. It isn't a case of days and months it happens over years and decades. Your freedoms are eroded a little at a time until you have none.
