People talk politics on every job. But, agents should keep their politics to themselves, pro-Trump or anti. I have already noted that the IG has called for tightening up the FISA rules so that this do not happen. None the less, this is one out of 13,000 agents at the FBI. All of the dozens of agents I have known over the years were conservative types. They would not have done this. And, the IG said that the "doctoring" did not affect the justification for the wiretap. It did give Trump a red herring to throw into the barrel, to take away from the rest of the IG report. I will grant you one concession. I used to sit next to an LAPD detective when I had Dodgers season tickets. He told me that cops tend to look longer and harder at people with histories of problems with obeying the law. If he was right, I can see how that would bias FBI agents when they heard allegations of new offenses.
