Yeah. I know that he called the Constitution "phony," but most of us think it sets the "standards." What it says is that it is up to the House of Representatives to run things. In fact, there is no such thing as "Federal Impeachment Procedure Standards." That phrase is what is phony. I would urge you to read the facts and truth before pretending to know what you are talking about. But, that would obviously be a waste of my time. The same waste that reading your pitiful effort was.

The proceedings are to have a vote. That's it nothing else matters. They also have to impeach him for "high crimes and misdemeanors" which are clearly defined in the constitution and law. None of which he has done.
The office of the President is equal to all of congress so when they subpoena him to appear as a witness, he can just laugh at them and ignore it.

You just don't get it. You do not get to say how impeachment will work, as long as the House decides if impechment will happen and the Senate, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding, tries the impeached person.

The Constitution says how impeachment works and the 9th and 10th amendment prevent congress from doing anything to the president except for the impeachment with a 2/3rd majority vote in the house and a 2/3rd vote in the senate for sentencing.
So when they subpoena the president he just laughs at them.
They can hold whatever show trials they want. Only the vote matters.

The current President laughs at subpoenas because his party will not hold him to the same standards they held Clinton, and Nixon. The only thing that matters is that Trump's Republicans believe that the ends justify the means. And, they have finally dragged the formerly honorable, Law and Order Republicans down to their level.

Actually Clinton didn't have to show up either. He chose to, in order to defend himself for political reasons and because they had physical evidence. Of course if you watched the Clinton questioning. He literally didn't answer any question at all. lol also no. You are mixing up the Democrats with "Trumps Republicans" there.

Ken Starr had a Grand Jury issue a subpoena. Clinton agreed to testify. And, it was a Grand Jury, not a Congressional Committee. But, as the expert testimony in yesterday's hearing showed, no president has ever obstructed Congress as has Trump. No matter how you dance, refusing to provide one document and ordering all employees of the Executive Branch to refuse to testify cannot be allowed to remain unchallenged. It is the depth of disloyalty to allow this, no matter what party is trying to subvert the Rule of Law.

You are missing the main point. All of congress is co-equal to the office of the president. They can't order each other around. It doesn't matter that they sign a piece of paper. Same with the Judicial branch. They can send subpoenas to Trump all day. Trumps has to comply with their vote on impeachment because that's listed directly in the constitution. Everything else is irreverent.

In other words there is no such thing as "obstruction" because they are equal.

They are co-equal. But, each has unique powers. The president can appoint cabinet level offices. But he must get the Senate's advice and consent, before any can be sworn in and serve. Only the House can introduce taxes. The Supreme Court ruled, and a similar ruling recently confirmed this, that the President and the Executive Branch must answer Congressional Subpoenas. The original ruling was against Nixon, who resigned a shortly after being told that he had to answer to the House of Representatives in his Impeachment. Separate, equal, but not exclusive or immune from action.

I know! Did you hear Schiff give his 'account' of Trump's phone call before the transcript was released? Why wouldn't Trump participate, I wonder???????
