I will even concede that some of your points about HRC and Joe/Hunter Biden are valid. They are not my favorite Democrats by a long shot.

However, the amount of nepotism, grifting, and lawbreaking that Trump and his entire family do on a daily basis makes the former grifting look like chump change. And your inability to see that is upsetting.

Why do y’all think Trump, for the first time in modern American presidential history, has not only failed to voluntarily disclose his tax returns but has also actively fought tooth and nail in federal court against their release?

When historians finally get ahold of Trump’s tax returns, everyone is going to be shocked.

Yes, the IRS, that Obama sicced on his foes, would cover for Trump.

A daily basis. Yes, why don't we see that. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Why are dems so incompetent getting rid of him if it's EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Yes, hyperbole!

Do you know how impeachment works? Formal articles of impeachment have not been filed in the House yet; the hearings are in the preliminary phase. Furthermore, Democrats do not have enough votes in the Senate to remove Trump. Not a single GOP Senator has come out in favor of impeachment. So no, Democrats’ “failure to remove Trump” is not a matter of incompetence.

But you say that Trump breaks laws daily. Like, daily. Why is there not a good case made? He's soo corrupt.

I know this impeachment is a farce. I know it's hopeless because nothing substantial is being presented. These RINO's would impeach if there was a reasonable cause.

The case against Trump is substantial. The Ukraine/election stealing quid pro quo story ALONE that broke a few weeks ago is worse than Watergate on so many levels.

—It involves unsettling geopolitics in an unstable area of the world.
—Trump treated billions of dollars in foreign military aid to Ukraine like a personal favor to be granted or revoked at will. No, it’s taxpayer money that was appropriated by Congress for a specific purpose.
—It attempted to recruit a foreign government to do Trump’s dirty work.
—Trump ran a shadow foreign policy in Ukraine using his personal lawyers: unelected and unappointed.

The only thing Watergate has on this story is the breaking-and-entering and burglars caught red-handed in the dead of night. But that’s not how elections are stolen anymore and smart people realize that.

There are many other things (emoluments clause violations, etc.) that could be impeachment-worthy.

yes,they have grounds for impeachment.mot arguing that,
but they had grounds from day one,yet consistently stated publicly that they would not seek impeachment.until trump went after one of their own.
so the "morality" argument falls flat on it's face.

also considering that there is no way Pelosi is getting 2/3rds the senate the entire exercise is an absolute waste,and is purely a political stunt.which will ultimately harm the democrats,and give trump a massive,free-press victory lap across America.

sitting house member are required attendance.
this is during a presidential campaign.
forcing some candidates to attend impeachment proceedings and robbing them of vital and valuable campaigning time.

how is this in any way a net positive for the democrats?

There are legitimate arguments to be had about timing, strategy, etc. re: impeachment.

I think impeaching on Day 1 (which could have been done in theory for his failure to divest his personal assets, as every other president-elect has done in the past) would have been a mistake.

Russiagate was not quite the conspiracy it was built up to be, and not a valid reason to impeach at that time.

However, Ukraine-gate truly is that smoking gun scandal. When that news broke, I got on board the impeachment train.

Just because the GOP Senators are dummies who will never vote to impeach Trump is not a reason to abandon the project. It generating evidence, creating a historical record, and further bolstering the obstruction of justice case. And I don’t think it’s hurting Democratic chances in 2020.

Our disagreements on strategy don’t change the fact we agree (I believe) that Trump is a dangerous fool who has no business being president.

The Constitution says sitting presidents may be impeached for: treason, bribery, “and other high crimes and misdemeanors.” There was a lot of debate over that last provision at the time the Constitution was ratified. Most scholars agree that the definition is a flexible one, and ultimately the definition of a “high crime or misdemeanor” is a political question decided by Congress. So from that perspective, yes, in theory any past president could have been impeached. But the vast majority of them weren’t.
