in america, the capitalist squeezes his market over and over to please other capitalists

capitalism works like that until a few companies manage to reach the top first and keep their place their by forcing others out of business, and dont really have to worry about having quality products because theyre the only ones making the product

Socialism works only when they kill millions of people ... at least you get to live under capitalism.

Oh yeah, I am going really broke because of the high prices at Amazon. Really?!!
1 up, 5y
it's not about prices. it's about product. a business with a monopoly at the top doesn't need to think about the quality of the product
0 ups, 5y
i didnt mention prices but corporate giants do make stuff for $5 and then sell it for $200 (shoes etc.)

Do you have an example of that happening in a capitalist society?

general motors, in the 50s, lobbied the united states government into building the interstate highway system, killing many, many railroad companies.

That’s not “forcing others out of business ... because they’re the only ones making the product.” GM didn’t event force other auto companies out of business.

Your example is like saying Microsoft killed many adding machine companies by creating desktop computers running Excel spreadsheets.

the reason gm didn't force other auto companies out of business because there weren't that many other auto companies back then. japan and germany (countries where honda, toyota, bmw, and volkswagen are from) were rebuilding their economy. gm didn't want to own the auto industry as much as they wanted to own the transportation industry (and conspire with auto and airplane companies). the biggest enemy to GM was the profiteering railroad industry (which built america).

disney, health insurance, tv cable companies, internet service providers, mcdonalds and other fast food giants

None of these are examples of a company forcing others out of business and the only one making the product.

then why arent there more of these companies if they arent pushing their agenda? mcdonalds is known to put smaller businesses out of businesses by putting their restaurants next to smaller restaurants and selling their food at a cheaper price. the other restaurant will either go out of business selling their products for too little, or just lose customers to mcdonalds
0 ups, 5y
I’ve never heard of macDonalds putting their restaurants next to smaller ones to put them out of business. In fact the opposite is happening with smaller burger joints expanding, like In N Out, and White Castle opening new stores in states where they hadn’t been before.

If a smaller restaurant goes out of business because a larger franchise comes to town, it means the larger restaurant’s product is preferred by the majority of people in the area. Maybe the only reason the smaller restaurant was in business in the 1st place is because there was no competition nearby and people didn’t have another option so they I need up paying higher prices and not getting the same kind of service or quality.

Selling hamburgers is hardly a monopoly of MacDonals or any other burger franchise.
