I don't think you get it. President Trump is not going to be injured by these sham impeachment proceedings. If anyone is going to be hurt, it will be the do nothing democrats. Since they have taken the House, tell me ONE thing they have done for America which is on President Trump's agenda that they could say they helped with? On the other hand, Trump continues to build on his list of accomplishments. By next year, the dems are going to pay a high price for pursuing this impeachment and not working with President Trump to help make America great again! You'll see.

What you seem to fail to realize is that the constant pushing for impeachment with no evidence behind it is backfiring on dems and virtually guaranteeing Trump's victory in 2020.

The last time someone tried to impeach a president on spurious charges, it only galvanized the base and cost the opposing party an election.

I should've been clearer. The impeachment proceedings began just prior to a mid-term election that Republicans earnestly believed would give them 20-30 seats. Instead, they lost seats, primarily because Democrats showed up in force, galvanized by what was considered to be a ridiculous charade being done by the Republicans. Now Democrats are trying the same tactic, stalling the official proceedings until right before the election, with the hope that Trump will be damaged by it. It's a helluva gamble. If the Right galvanizes behind Trump the Democrats could possibly lose the election and house seats, giving Trump the power he needs to move his agenda forward, only this time he won't have the resistance from within his own party, and can see the wins as a mandate.

What absolute nonsense. There's no mid-term elections coming up and the proceedings are already underway. What Trump is facing is going into a general election with a done and dusted impeachment on his public record; the last time that happened, the ruling party lost the White House, and the time before that, the President just straight-up quit his job rather than even try to battle it out.

The proceedings aren't even official. They're just parading around people for show. Nothing they do here matters...and they know it. For Congress, every two years is an end-game, so it's important for them. Those previous times you mention were based on favorabilitly ratings. Those presidents had actual crimes against them and the public as a whole agreed. Democrats are still trying to figure out what crime to make up and charge him with. Parading people around and asking their opinion of a phone call they didn't even hear doesn't count as evidence of anything. The democrats releasing heavily redacted transcripts leaving out exculpatory remarks just fuels the distrust in them as well. Trump has 90% approval among Republicans, so don't think they're just going to sit at home in a national election and not defend someone they view is being maliciously attacked everyday.

Trump won by an actual majority. The majority of electoral college votes. It's our current system dude, so deal with it!!!

The entire point of the electoral college is to rinse out the effects of a popular majority. So just own it. Don't spin it.

I don't have to own anything. The system is the way that it is regardless of you or me. The framers, who were geniuses, would most likely disagree with your watered down version. Why don't you actually read why the electoral college was created from multiple sources to come to a more educated conclusion. And if you don't like it then try your best to change it rather than whining about it. Good luck with that.
