They are no different from anthing from W.A.R to the Republican Alt Right and their military wing, Unite the Right and various other Right Wing militias on the rise in a racist reactionary response to the election of what they dubbed a Negro foreign agent in 2008. They share the same methods, but more importantly, the same goals: erasing anyone who opposes a race-based heirarchy, with deportation or even death if necessary.

As for proof about the KKK; the Confederates were threatened by the election of a REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE - ABRAHAM LINCOLN. If they were Republican they wouldn't have been threatened.
