Can we impeach him, or do we have to wait until next year's election to get him out?

It's possible to get both!

The House can impeach him.
The Senate can have the trial AND vote him removed from office.

BUT the Senate also has to bar him from any further public service. If they don't do that it's entirely possible that he could run for President again in 2020.

So we could impeach him, have him evicted from office, AND vote him out.

Best of all worlds.
