Parents should know kids are smart enough that they're not fooled. It's okay to tell them "no." It's better than insulting their intelligence.

"We have ____ at Home." isn't about questioning the Kids' IQ...

it's about saving face in public, and Making the kids look like brats if they continue to whine...

"no" isn't good enough because strangers are judgmental assholes and witnesses are likely to assume that you A. are too poor to buy the 'good' pizza' or B don't think your children are worth a 'Treat'
