Sorry, it can get confusing when a lefty goes for humor. When I see quotations, it leads me to think it's an actual quote.

This whole time I thought it was some screen cap of Levar Burton on Reading Rainbow.

I found this comment and dozens of others in doing on-line research on the Kayode Ewumi meme. People all over the world, many posting in other languages said they made the same mistake I made. I was wrong, but, I was not alone in making that mistake.

It's not a big deal, anyone can make a mistake but you called someone a bigot over it. Does he get a pass or only 'well meaning' liberals?

I guess I'll have to wait.

Suggesting that a Black woman, shown in a slapstickish image, might not understand the reference, is only marginally racist.

Denial, especially vehement denial is one way to deal with this. The other might be to ask youself if anyone could really believe that you did not notice this woman is Black. You exploited an image that is presented for people to laugh at that shows a Black person in a less than flattering light. Then you have that person ask a question that suggests she does not read the news. I have never met a bigot, who knew he was a bigot.

Have you ever heard of memes? This is a meme site. That meme indicates confusion. You choose to read into it more if you want, which you will. Amazing how you see racism in everything. Sure you're not a bigot? You've never met a bigot who knew they were a bigot!

The template title, "Roll Safe...," is a clue to its origins, as it rolls off the tongue as British urban slang.
He's not even the same shade as LeVar, and you can tell by looking at him that he's straight up African, at least ethnically. He looks even less like Murphy tho.

I admit my error. I have never heard of the British guy. And, that pose looked remarkably like one I have seen Levar make dozens of times on Reading Rainbow. And, he does not look one bit like Eddie Murphy, to me. Don't hold your breath waiting for the people who said it is Eddie Murphy to retract and admit their error. In any case, the message was sent to attempt to justify the earlier, more offensive meme.

I have actually worked with this man who has a Master's Degree from a major University. Even if I didn't, you can't believe that his image and her image do not convey different messages?

Typically a meme utilizing that image is not expressing THAT woman's confusion, but the confusion or feigned confusion of the one captioning it in regards to what they are replying it too, basically mocking the one they are posting that meme comment to.
