Lucky you! Nobody performs here in Bosnia. The closest city where concerts happen (somewhat) regularly is Belgrade, and even that is several hours of car driving away from where I live (and the frequent traffic jams don't help at all).

I know how you feel. A lot of bands I'd really liked to see never come to Ireland. I had to fly over to the UK to catch most of the bands I've seen. The ones that do come here usually perform in Dublin. Since I'm from the west that means a 3 hour train journey and an over night stay in a hotel.

Lol! I visited the Knock cathedral while in Ireland last time, other than that I suppose I've passed through but not much else...

I've noticed American tourist mainly stick to the cities and towns. I grew up in Achill it's an island popular with tourists mainly German, Dutch and French. You guys don't do water sports it would seem ;)
5 ups, 5y
I'm sure your dialect sounds lovely ;) yeah we stuck to the touristy places, but saw plenty of countryside as we travelled. The whole trip was one of my fondest memories.

Concerts are too loud. That said i’ve Been to the Cars, Chicago, REO Speedwagon and a couple others. But what I missed is what bothers me. I had tickets to Rush and my ride bailed the day of the concert and I didn’t bother buying tickets to see Stevie Ray Vaughn because I knew work would never let me have July Fourth off. Then they “surprised” me by letting me take it off after the concert sold out. SRV died later that year.

That's really unfortunate. I'd have been fuming.

Oh gosh, that would make a lengthy list. Just to stick with rock bands I can remember off the top of my head: Boston, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, The Cars, The Police, Def Leppard, Lynerd Skynerd, BOC, Journey, Rush, Mother's Finest, The Talking Heads, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Joan Jett, Angel, Jethro Tull, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd.

The concert I had ticket for and forever regret having to miss was KISS.

That's quite a list. A few you mentioned are on my bucket list :) lol, it appears a few people have missed the opportunity to see Kiss live.

I forgot to mention Styxx and Van Halen, though honestly I could have done without seeing that Van Halen concert. David Lee Roth ruined it.

And yep, KISS still rocks :) I'd see them now if I had the opportunity!

I've been to a Metallica show once aswell while I was in the USA.

I'm not much of a concert guy, but I've been to a few. Mostly country and bluegrass.

The Marshall Tucker Band
Charlie Daniels
Toby Keith
Blues Traveler
Trace Adkins
The Del McCoury Band
Allison Krauss & Union Station
Willie Nelson
Hootie and the Blowfish

I was never into country or bluegrass but each to their own ;)
5 ups, 5y
I guess I say that because some folks I know are going to them constantly, like once every month or two. That list is exhaustive, and literally every one I've been to in 34 years so I don't really consider it a lot I guess.

You ever listen to Tyler Childers, Thpark?
2 ups, 5y,
1 reply
Can't say I have, but I just looked him up and I really like the sound...more traditional country sounding with more acoustical to it and some bluegrass notes, really nice. I don't consider today's country music to be country at all, it's all just pop rock with somebody singing with an over exaggerated country accent, that's not country.

Thought you might dig it from what you listed above. I totally agree w/ you about modern "country" music. Forget all that noise- give me some ol' Waylon, George Jones, Hank, -- I love that old stuff.

All the "outlaw" guys work just fine for me. Other than that, Alan Jackson and Travis Tritt are about as modern country as I like. Some of the songs out these days are entertaining, but I don't consider them country. Luke Bryan drives me nuts, the freakin' accent is really exaggerated and all he sings about is stereotypical redneck crap like trucks in the mud and come on girl lets ride down some back road and make out...just roll all the stereotypes into one bucket full of bud light by a bonfire in the cow pasture. I can't stand that, it's commercialized canned "country" music.

Hell yeah *to the outlaws* . LMAO at your pop country synopsis. You forgot the edgy references to smokin' weed hahahahaa

Yeah, they can roll that crappy twang up and smoke it alright. One of my favorites is David Allan Coe, never even called me by my name. That's a damn country song, the modern stuff sucks.

Love DAC, bro. and that's one of my favorites too. Long haired redneck... good times.
2 ups, 5y
It's funny, I just went on a rant about stereotypes in country music...and forgot about the whole line in the song about how DAC hit every one of em' in that one! But at least he was making fun of all of them, maybe that's why I like it so much! Long haired redneck, yeah that's a good one. Ever heard Fly Eagle Fly by Marshall Tucker Band? That song has one of the best sounds to it in my opinion. Easy, twangy, country...and the accent is legit, I can say that because those guys are from my hometown, lol!

Hold up. Those 3 just sing and bob around, giving the devil horns and being 'edgy'?
3 ups, 5y
Those are actually Fox hands, because they couldn't do the traditional rock hand sign. And their songs are pretty good. Check out "Song 4." It jokes about Japanese superstitions about the number 4.

Too many to remember. It’s easier to list the ones I haven’t seen- Led Zeppelin (though I saw the Page/Plant tour), Black Sabbath (though I saw Ozzy), Kiss, and Rush are the only big name groups I regret not seeing...
