The lawyer appears to be making the case that he is mentally unfit to stand trial, which I agree with. The way he's going about making that case, in the media at least, leads me to think he's got a secondary agenda. Specifically, that he wants to use his client's pro-Trump ideologies to garner media attention and increase his profile as "the lawyer who tied Trump's violent rhetoric to actual violence." I'm less pleased about the self-seeking nature of that.
