I haven't read much of his newer stuff. But I read The Stand unabridged edition a few years back and loved it- but I like anything Armageddon:)

I only read Christine, which was a delightful way of stretching a 200 pager into 500 excrutiatingly mind numbing ones.
Everyone tells me it wasn't his best, but I never bothered reading anymore of his.
He had the audacity to criticize the movie, like it didn't do it justice. Which I suppose is true if your aim is to bore your audience into a 20 year coma.

The movie is one of my all time faves.

It usually gets talked along with Orwell's 1984. Both good books. The Doors of Perception was also good.

orwell….he wrote animal farm right? And the doors of perception sounds sweet!

Yes.

It's a literary genius describing a peyote trip. It's where Jim Morrison got the name for The Doors.

I'm stupid…..isn't peyote trip a drug?

I doubt it. You just have the condition of being young.

Yeah, it's a psychedelic drug. Just say no, kiddo.

no worries man, i'm easy going. the book is about a post apocalyptic world where all the residents have been rounded up into camps and forced into slave labor. it uses a lot of the same concepts that 1984 does like not speaking against the government, hidden meanings in words like doublethink and newspeak, etc.
2 ups, 5y
Sounds interesting, I always had a thing for post apocalyptic, I suppose starting with Planet of the Apes, the Forbidden Zone...

maybe, honestly i don't know. but i thought the book was good. I really try not to consume myself with who says what in the news to that level, i have enough other things to concern myself with :)
2 ups, 5y
Eh, never mind me, I never read it, so I'm in no position to say.
If you like it, that's cool, I'm just funning you is all.
