We call them "dijken" in Dutch, and and guess the English word is "dykes". Not sure if a dyke's gonna help though... I've crossed dykes many times, and you don't need to have experience on mountains for that. But it was a nice one to bring up ;)

In Dutch we have the term "pot" for that (which officially means "jar", but is also used as a slang term for a lesbian). I deem myself neither pro- nor anti-LGBT. It's what it is, and well.. that's it. I have trouble to understand why people make such a fuzz about it :)

Friends of mine are gay. And I don't have to be there when they do... well you know... But then again, I wouldn't want to be there when straight people do... well, that... either.... And if somebody of your own gender can make you happy where somebody of the opposite sex cannot, then who am I to say it's wrong... You have to be happy with them, not me ;)
I'm a straight guy myself, and I don't like people making a fuzz about the women I date, either... It's my life after all. Same goes for gays...

And besides I hate nothing more than banning out people for whatever reason. Okay, I can understand you don't wanna befriend people who did really bad stuff, like killing or stuff like that, but aside from that kind of stuff... Would it harm me if you loved somebody of your own gender? I think not, so why should I care about it?
