U got it down now!
U shood add just one more sentence to the title like, "I wish they did, though." And then maybe one more sentence like, "Don't you?"

And maybe one more punchline where you explain why no one ever said that. LOL!!
Cheers!!

Had a Great Grandmother who always gave us a dollar for our birthday. I was in my 20's still looking forward to that dollar. LOL

GG lived to 106. A dollar was a fortune.

I was just thinking about this at work today. I do kinda miss the days I spent growing up in the seventies. We used a lot of imagination and did a ton of running around. But I also grew up in Florida where the weather meant we could run around year round.

I now live in New England and while I would prefer not to, I have had be out in weather in below -15f many times. Believe me when I say there was no running being done.

I was born in the 70's, really did my growing up in the 90's. Then all the internet came about.

The only benefit of the isolating effect of the Internet is when the country's air is radioactive after either a nuclear meltdown like what happened in Chernobyl, Russia, or after the Nuclear exchanges between warring superpowers.

Yep. People think they need it. It has simplified some things while complicating others I feel. Also has now dumbed us down a bit.

Dumbed down, as far as knowledge that could've been aquired had had the internet not come?
1 up, 5y,

Of course there is easily obtainable knowledge, but there is also easily obtainable misinformation. And I don't know a whole lot of people who are seeking knowledge so much as they are spreading misinformation. Let us also not forget what things like auto correct has done to people's ability to spell, as well as speech to text, and simply talking to a phone to ask a question instead of using your skills to type, search, and read. If the internet were being used for gainful knowledge it would certainly be an improvement, but by and large it is not.

Auto-Correct... Speech-to-Text... wow, I didn't think these two had a negative impact on our abilities in which the two were designed to help. Just think that such skills can simply be aquired, just by reading a physical book. Which also reminds me if the internet also comes down.

We can potentially be so dependent, as we already are, on electronics that if it suddenly shuts down, then all records containing precious knowledge will instantly disappear. It's like the burning of the Alexandrain Library but far worse as nothing will be left.

Right? It would be catastrophic in some respects.

I think that some of these technological advances were probably meant to help, or make certain tasks a little easier they really have become a crutch on which people completely rely. I hate too imagine a world where knowing how to read and write will be unheard of, but I fear we are rapidly headed that way.

Yes, those are scary thoughts. Our communicative ability will entirely be through a TV screen.
