Sure, they are the majority. But it's just a pattern with this woman. Of course, she was right there tweeting about how evil the Covington kids were before the whole story came out.

I'll defend her. First of all the clip most people have seen was edited to remove some content that provided context. She was talking about terrorism in the United States, where more people are killed by right-wing extremists than other groups. Saying white men, was sloppy language, she should have said white supremacists or nationalists. This is the basic problem of prejudice, blaming an entire group because of their background, instead of individuals or elements of a group that are responsible. Eg, most white supremacists are responsible for violence not white men, and Islamic extremists are responsible for violence, not all Muslims, and so on.

Not that I don't think that vox, huffington post etc don't push that bs. They have a seriously loose definition of rightwing/white supremacist/nationalist tho.

Honestly, she's not worthy of defending. Especially if you need to qualify her statement as much.

well, I only needed to qualify one thing, far more important is to hear the missing comments, where she says if fear was the driving force of policies to keep Americans safe inside America, we should be monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men. Various recent reports have placed the responsibility for much of political violence with white supremacists and nationalists. I think she is worth defending. Note she is not defending Islamic Terrorists either, I shouldn't need to say that, any political / religious violence is obviously bad, but policies against it should be driven by evidence and not prejudice.

Regardless of emotions, they are not looking at current events. Not even going to deign to argue Omar's comment, but I think Lemon's done pretty well in what he think is a racist society. The guy who proposed the idea that a black hole was responsible for a missing airliner

Omar was given a new life, a successful and profitable life. I think statistics say most whites are killed by whites, most blacks are killed by blacks, most Latinos are killed by Latinos, if you want to drag ethnic identity into it. Terrorist attacks and school shooters, Las Vegas etc are outliers. I'd say gangs are the biggest threat, regardless of color. Unless I misunderstand you.

She did say it, but once again you have to see the whole thing, not the little clip out of context. It's clear that she wasn't saying people need to fear white men, she was pointing out how absurd it would be to profile all white people because some white men (ie, the white supremacists) have done bad things. This was in response to a question what people should do about Radical Islamists. (I think they phrased it as Jihadists). It is actually a good logical point, but the Fox News just wants to vilify her by editing the original clip to make her sound like some kind of reverse racist. On the other hand I have no idea what Lemon said, but you can go find the original full clip with Omar.

So you just defend a Jew hating Muslim because she's a Muslim and they're supposed to hate Jews? Take away the racial aspect of it, she's a Jew hater and wants Jews to be wiped off the map (going by her religion and what they believe, of course).

I don't think she hates Jews, but if you can provide some original source material that shows otherwise, I will have a look. I think it is important to note that legitimate criticism of the Israeli government and it's Palestine policies is not the same as antisemitism.
