That is indeed how it works. Putin is even a suspect in being involved of a "troll-campaign" to make sure the brexiteers would vote in that referendum. Divide and conquer, and making use of useful idiots. Both Farage and Johnson are such useful idiots to Putin (hence the glass of champagne I looked for) as far as the UK is concerned. Outside the UK we have Geert Wilders, Thiery Beaudet, Marine Le Pen to name a few... Italy is now led by a government with these useful idiots. And it's not that Russia has glory by a weak (or non-existent EU). He even wants the former USSR members back, and most of them are now in the EU.And if the Brexit is succesful for Putin then he'll certainly exploit some behavior in some countries who are now a bit out of line, much more.
