I didn’t create my reply meme (from hot page) but I think it was a very appropriate response to the anonymous OP’s headline and one that many folks on the left would rather ignore.

Inherited wealth? Aristocratic/monied class?
The assumption that that is strictly the reserve of one particular race is, well, must I say the word?

Pointing out 2 tokens as examples of tokens distinguished and separated from the rest of Trump's appointments by being tokens and nothing but opens itself up to the very criticism it seeks to contradict.

I don’t understand where your first paragraph is coming from.
So if Trump hires minorities they are strictly tokens, and if he doesn’t he’s racist and preventing minorities from advancing. Heads I win, tails you lose argument.

Pointing out people as "Look, here's his black one, oh, wait, he's got an entire two!" speaks of that person's mindset.

Just like talk of the 'black community' or the 'black voter' ...
- No one points out how many whites or men anyone has hired, nor speaks of them as a monolithic demographic that thinks, acts, and votes in one particular way.

Hiring a couple of people and pointing out their skin tone as proof of how whomever doesn't mean all the mean things they say about 'those people' merely shows that they view these people as something separate. Bending to hire them as if it was some amazing accomplishment to be applauded merely reflects their motives.

You can’t be serious. All we heard for eight years was the Obama Administration touting “the first THIS” and “the first THAT.” Dividing people by their skin color, gender, religion and orientation. He was the king of photo ops and props!

I saw lots of examples of racism when I was young, but later saw a country that wasn’t perfect, but was beginning to heal through the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s. I was happy that my kid grew up in a time where color was unimportant. Eventually Obama came along doing exactly what you accuse Trump of doing. In addition to that, his consistent support of nearly every black person that got hurt or killed while resisting arrest without regard to the danger they posed to officers just served to reignite racial tensions that have developed into what we’re seeing today. Trump is not without fault. He tosses gas on the flames too, but you would have to be blind (or just partisan) to deny Obama’s role.
