I personally do not care if she is black or not. And I think the actress is quite beautiful.
But being a Star Wars fan and knowing how Star Wars fans was regarded for our many valid criticisms. I just want to point out that it is asinine to bunch all the critics of their new live remake as being racist. I mean it may be as innocent as some people just wanting to see her with red hair..?
Okay I don't know what their criticism is. I think some people thinks it is just an act of virtue signaling by Disney.
"Oh look at us we care so much for black people". You know, virtue signaling.
And those critics don't really have a problem with the fact that she is black.
I know with Star Wars, Disney was advertising Rey as the first female lead character. I mean her gender was what they was running with. And unfortunately Star Wars fans found that pretty much all they gave the character Rey was her gender. I guess at least they gave her that much in the gender confused world we live in but they could have at least gave her good character development!
In saying that I am curious if Disney is doing the same thing with the new Little Mermaid remake? Are they making a big deal out of her skin color or are they just advertising the upcoming movie. Because if it is the former then the virtue signaling accusations may have some merit to them.
If the team from Lucasfilm is not involved in making this new movie, then it might be pretty good!
