I'm aware it was lip service. You fail to see the hypocrisy, and the irony that antifa calling themselves "antifascist", or indeed most on the left calling themselves "progressive" or "liberal", is /also/ lip service.
"Suicide by cop" is a real thing. But for all we know he may have been terminal and wanted to be remembered 'fighting the natzees' or be a martyr, like you say.
