A Carbon Tax would create incentive to switch over to Green energy sources and become net neutral. It might be a bit pricy at first, but we must all endure a bullet for our defilling of mither nature

The replacement for fossil fuels is not readily available and definitely out of the price range of 90% of Canadians. The carbon tax is just a cash grab.
What could he have done different? Solar Co-ops for communities. Solar and wind incentives. Subsidize the purchase of electric/hybrid cars. Tax disincentives for high pollution vehicles.
It's the same thing with smoking. They dont want to ban it, they want to make money off it.

Every Tax is a cash grab. But unlike actual cash grabs the money gained from Taxes is reinvested into the people and can be used to subsidize the replacement of fossil fuels, fund the healthcare system, public works, schools and more. I think you are under the mistaken assumption that the Money is taken and the politicians horde it for themselves.

He can do that alongside a carbon Tax to make renewable energy even more tempting

We hire government to do things for us. We think it is going to make our lives better. When the government turns around and punishes us for just going about our daily lives, it has gone too far. The carbon tax is punitive, it punishes every single Canadian who are doing nothing but getting by.
Directed incentives and disincentives are fine. Universal punitive taxes are not.
Trudeau spent more on corporate welfare than the entire defence budget, he sent more money outside Canada than he spent on the same issues inside Canada. This is wrong.
