I don't want to influence you in any way, but if you care about innocent puppies and kittens, you'll vote Republican. No pressure.

Eh, I dunno. Some of the dems have some decent ideas. There's even one who wants border security and humane treatment! Also, none of them are Hillary Clinton or Occasio Cortez! It's a win-win!

Who? Gabbard? She's the only sane option, although I heard she's for reparations, which is morally wrong because generational guilty isn't fair.

Hey, AOC is on Colbert.

Right now.

Oh yeah, I saw! You know, now that I've read more into the Green New Deal I honestly think that it would do this country a lot of good. It would not only fix the problem of climate change, but it would also keep the economy not just running but running incredibly well. I know that there are many on this site who thinks that it goes too far, but those are the same people who practically worship a giant cheeto who denies science and gropes women whilst they're trying to clean his suite.

Thing is it's a bit naive and unrealistic. Don't get me wrong, I've done more to aid ecology in my own little way (plant wildlife gardens in nearby parkland where invasive weeds reign, and out of my own pocket - that's usually what I'm doing in the afternoon to evening hours I'm not here) than everyone I've known combined (which is easy because they do nothing except the occasional little tax-deductable donation). But there IS a reason Global Warming got renamed Climate Change coincidentally when average temps began to dip to 1970s levels in the 2000s before going back up recently.

If the Green Deal could help conserve energy and reduce pullution, I'd be all for it. But it's based on science whose own predictions discredited itself plus it's terribly myopic. By getting people to focus on it, they've gleefully forgotten other types of pollution, while pointing fingers at industry which in turn allows them to not do anything themselves.

Reaction against the movement when the science doesn't pan out plus believers not taking personal responsiblity and action themselves ends up with nothing but cute slogans for social media and apathy. Renewables are great and essential for the future, but suprisingly little has been done while we wait for someone else to do something. Plus some aren't as beneficial as hoped, such as windmills and all the flying critters they kill.

Another thing is by making it one big thing - this Green New Deal - it becomes an easier target for those against. If instead of a big top down approach a multi pronged one from multiple venues was tried, the results may prove more effective.

Hmmm, I think she did say something a little tough amongst all the pandering but I was only half paying attention. How'd AOC come off on Colbert?

AOC's voice has had been having an adverse reaction on my auditory canals lately. Her college progressive rad group meet air began to irritate me when I actually started paying attention to her a couple of weeks ago on account of this site in regards to the colonial whyte cabbage incident (I watched the vid).

It was then I realized the midnight repeat of Maddow was on, so I hit the remote to catch the second half of the incredible debate.

I admire her passion, especially compared to the zombie Republicans, but sheesh. There's a reason why people meme her saying stupid things.

From the bit I saw, Maddow seemed to do a decent job. Thought it was pretty shitty of Tapper to bring up Tulsi's old opinions tho. Wonder if he'll do the same to Biden? Didn't see many hardball questions like that, but I only saw 30 minutes or so.

But most of those memes are false quotes. That's why it took me till the cabbage incident to finally look her up, because the details were so wierd they might actually be real.

Not that I favor people being dutiful drones in a static heirarchy, but there's no excuse for people acting disresptful. Like with Al Franken "Your time is up" incident, that pissed me off royally. Learn how things really work and treat others the way you wish to be treated, you bungholes. Was a fan since Franken & Davis on SNL, that moment flushed all them decades down the toilet for me.

If you notice here, it's not what people say that really irks me, but how or why. I'm only rancid in response to those who act that way.

Maddow rules.
Think I missed what Tapper said, since I didnt watch from the beginning then I was prepping dinner and babbling online and when these dolts start hablaing el Espanol and other pandering ("Climate Change is our gratest priority, amirite, yo?") I yawn and start fading out. Her on the Taliban bit with what's-his-face was cool.
He won't want to look like he's going soft on Biden, so....

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan and I do want to give someone in a new position a chance to get their footing but she's already made a list of people that have crossed her, shades of Nixon's enemy list.

Can't remember that Franken thing. Him having a bunch of uncounted voting ballets in his trunk soured me on him, altho I'm fuzzy on that too.

Yeah, I get that. I feel the same.

He asked her about her old attitude on gay marriage, like even Obama wasn't, vocally at least, against it in 2008. So she had to grovel. The MSM don't like Tulsi because she's anti interventionist. She's the only one running that I actually like. Tonight going to be fun tho. Snoozy Joe, Mr. Everyone gets $1,000 a month Yang, Bernie.

You see those pictures of AOC getting weepy at a border fence from last year? You know what's on the other side? An empty parking lot.

I saw that last night on a meme here.
But how do we know the empty one was from another time?
- Not that politician tears aren't totally cringe and faker than Bruce Kardashain's amazing wig.
3 ups, 6y
Not sure what you mean about the empty one being from another time. It happened last year and she was wearing the same clothes in all the pictures. I think she put the photos out on twitter. I'll give it to her, it may have backfired this time but she's pretty media savvy. I know she has the backing of that slimeball Cenk Ugyur, altho I think he got kicked out of Democracy Now! but you get my point.

I have to look again, but it was 6 pics side by side, wasn't sure if she was in that, tho didn't see anything from her angle neither.

Eww, Cenk Ugyur? That guy makes me barf so bad, I feel guilty, because it's past mega max tilt. LIke ever have the urge to just knee one to the groin of some folks for no real warranted reason but still really wanna? Like that.

Well, there's nothing wrong with bring attention to something that can be improved, as it is a building problem, more illegal immigrants were apprehended in May then since 2000, but it's the dishonesty that irks me.

He's such a buffoon, with his Al Jeezra money. That interaction with Alex Jones a few years ago showed their true colors but TYT network is a total hateful cringefest. All the decent folk like Dave Rubin, Jimmy Dore and a decent reporter who's name I forget, have all left. I still watch the TYT election night broadcast every once in awhile to see smug turn to broken in moments lol

For slavery. People who never had slaves paying money to people who never were slaves. How does this get vetted? Some people had slave owners in their family along with slave ancestors. idk
