I knew someone would go that route. No just that man and woman naturally go together due to unique abilities, differences in their wiring etc. Procreation is a big part (and society actually wouldn't endure with only same sex unions) but not the only part. No one would say trying to snap together two similar ends of a seatbelt makes sense.

Allowing it is one thing, forcing others to accept it as natural is another.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything, you're either tolerant or you aint. You sound like you aint tolrrant

Suing others to make them cater their wedding on your property doesn't seem like tolerance in action.

Well he could feel how he feels, I don't care, his loss his problem. I have gay family and gay friends, they had to deal with all kinds of shit. I don't quite get the whole bakery thing, I've refused to do work for people cuz I thought they were complete f**king assholes, even did have one guy try and sue me cuz I sent him to another artist who completely f**ked up his truck, they were both assholes, I knew he would f**k it up, so the owner tried suing me to get his truck repainted black, did not last long, I laughed and laughed and still laugh when I think about it. I just hope for people to be happy, if being in a same sex relationship does that for them good enough, they still fight, have feelings, cheat, etc etc. Not my place to say it's right or wrong, I know what I like, may not be the same for others

Ah, gotcha. So you do body work?

Some body work, Custom airbrush artwork mostly by night, sub contractor by day.

Tolerance goes both ways. Forcing a bakery to close doesn't sound like tolerance to me either.

We get, you don't like the gays, I'm sure they'll be ok.

I actually have several family members and friends who are gay/lesbian. Disagreeing with a lifestyle does not equal hate or intolerance.

No but we also don't have straight parades, have our own flag, and push our orientation on everyone.
1 up, 6y
Actually we do have them, and you are pushing our orientation

People who have been excluded because of their orientation have sought to take matters into their own hands to rectify the situation, even having their own exclusive ones celebrating themselves, which is what everyone else's does.

St Patrick's day is about as significant to Catholic and Christians and Americans as St Bernard's day. The parade is a celebration of being Irish that was started by Irish immigrants in NYC who had faced open discrimination and contempt.

My favorite inane parade celebrates Cristobal Colon as discoverer of a land he did not discover. Ok, really what it celebrates is Italian heritage, curiously choosing a man with a Spanish name who never spoke or wrote an Italian word in his life. But then again, Italian immigrants also felt maligned and excluded, so this was their way of countering that, at least for a day.

Bottom line is no one has "Today is just another blah Thursday" parades, and discrimination and segregation are by design meant to exclude the unwanted.
We DO have our own flag, and flags are literally meant to be symbols of what "we" are as opposed to them who are not us. When you have to pass amendments, acts, and laws to allow that banner to fly over the heads of Americans not exactly recognized as such, that kind of explains the desire of some factions to want to be recognized as Americans and included, and if that entails celebrating that aspect of themselves, so be it.

Not saying St Patrick's should be forced to have some float based solely on personal orientation towards a private activity, but the reasons for those formally forced to the shadows to express themselves is understandable. That we have to debate whether some people should not be allowed to share the same rights as others in something so basic as marriage because of some unfathomable reason shows how far we still have to go.

And I haven't heard a single convincing one in favor of it. Legality of something really doesn't mean its suddenly morally right.

Yes I do. And I'm aware of the fact that the supreme court abolished segregation in marriage in 1967. Race and gender are two different things.

I've never gone for the race argument. In fact I've heard some transgender people get offended when someone claims to be transracial. Though I'm not sure why.
