Always the thought provoking questions Octavia. I know of alcoholics, drug addicts, sex offenders, gay, transgender, and regular old sinners, etc. who have had their lives transformed through the power of Christ.
Receiving forgiveness and God's Righteousness, and indwelling Holy Spirit is instant, but growing up in Christ and conquering the "old nature" is a process that may take years.
So, yes I would, depending on the individual and after several years of consistent walking with God to prove that his "conversion" was the real thing, and not imaginary.

I have seen faith transform people.
I can't speak about pedophiles (which seems to me more a mental illness) but faith can be an extremely powerful dynamic for people to heal from trauma,suffering and hopelessness.

there are certainly issues when your faith is based solely on doctrine and dogma.
it leads to a grotesque self-righteous moralizing.

The personal testimonies of thousands of radically changed lives as the result of third party (indwelling Holy Spirit) seems to me very strong evidence/proof of God. But I realize atheists will always reject that evidence since it doesn't fit their world view.

Keep in mind, not everyone who claims to be a Christian is a Christian. Only those who have had a "spiritual birth" through personal faith in Jesus. (a small minority)

I don't know of any lives radically changed for the better by dead religions? These tend only to enslave people in futile rituals. Are there any gay atheists or drug addicts who have converted to Buddhism and are now filled with joy knowing their sins are forgiven and they have supernatural power to overcome their failings? Millions of sinners changed by Christ far outnumber the few pitiful examples produced by these other fake religions.

The bottom line is, there is no Muslim or Buddhist version of "unshackled". (might it be called "shackled"?)

As you say, Christianity is unique in the concept of forgiveness of sins. It is the only religion which offers a solution to the problem of sin.

Those who have found forgiveness are happy to share the news with others out of joy not obligation. I don't see people of other religions lining up to share their joy. Where are they?

I consider the possibility that the Bible and Christianity are wrong on a regular basis. As have many brilliant skeptics. Yet their arguments often unravel under the microscope, any many have changed sides.

The more I study the Bible, and historical evidence, and changed lives of others & myself, the reality of evil, fulfilled prophesies, the emptiness of other religions, etc. I'm reassured that Jesus is the REAL DEAL. (just wait till you get to the N.T.)
