It was super hard to stop a leak of that magnitude that deep underwater. Not Obama's fault.

HOWEVER, while deregulation of the cement fixtures used at the drill sites happened under W, there was - as we saw with the leaked cables Wikileaks dump - an embarrassed silence for the Democrats who had been spending the previous few years turning a blind eye to the oil companies using a cement known to be at risk of blowing out under oceanic pressure. And that WAS their fault.

Some things, you CAN pin on the Obama administration. It's just unfortunate that Republicans don't want to pick those battles. They want to pick the battles where Democrats are evil and Republicans aren't. So they keep picking dud fights.
