Well actually there are a couple of passages which if one were to twist them to a certain light might be used as religous endorsement for Terror or war activities against non muslims and disobedient muslims. But those passages would have to be wilfully misinterpreted for that to happen. eg There is a passage where it says that man might think something bad, but its good and something good bad. Only gold knows. So one could take that and say, you THINK killing all these babies is bad, but god knows that this is actually good and if its bad we'll find out later or something. Point is, its not institutionalised.

Islam is indeed a religion of peace. Just because extremists attack people doesn't mean that the entire religion is like that. Most Muslims HATE those people. And besides, if we're making statements like that, we might as well say that all Christians are bad because a select few attack gays, Muslims, and because a couple thousand years ago they went on a tour of slaughter to reclaim land. Doesn't make much sense to call them that, does it?
