The Most Interesting Man In The World Meme | I DON'T OFTEN HAVE A CIVIL DISCUSSION WITH SOMEONE I DISAGREE WITH BUT WHEN I DO IT'S USUALLY WITH OCTAVIA_MELODY | image tagged in memes, the most interesting man in the world | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Sometimes it saddens me that more people can't be civil and use the gift of coherent language rather than resort to cursing and personal attacks.

Yeah same. This is one reason why we are so divided, and the new commentators don’t help (lookin right at you Ben Shapiro)

I made it a week ago. So not aimed at anyone in particular. I see language used in many streams but particularly in politics which is where heated discussions are sure to occur. I just am surprised by some comments made. I was always taught a Christian is a Christian all the time, so I think what guides you to be good in church should guide you no matter what circumstance. Peace my brother. 😊

That's funny because that's almost verbatim to something I posted yesterday. I usually don't but I was smeared with all the usual libtard slurs and when I asked for proof, I was told, 'I just know', so I lost it. Oh well. Politics can get nasty. I'll have to try harder. Peace to you and yours as well.

Peace is a good thing to have. Never let anyone or anything they say or do take it from you. Sometimes it's good to just step away from the screen, and think through a response. Sometimes no response is the best response. Peace brother!

I think the Internet has made it way too easy to hide behind a keyboard and spew out words without a second thought to whether it's doing more harm or good. People need to chill. Show some respect and use the English language to communicate with intelligence. I detest curse words they are such a waste of time and effort to what end? End rant.

On occasion. But some people take it to extremes. Like they don't know how to communicate any other way. I can assure you I've never once had to call anyone a name or insult them and I've been on debates, in person or online with people from all walks of life for most if my life and the best conversations have been with those whom couldn't have been more opposite in their views. But they knew their facts and they conveyed them respectfully. It makes a huge difference. If you want to be respected, then show respect, all the time.

My son pointed out to me that he read an article that shocked him;it shocked me too when he told me about it!
He said that a study revealed that many people had no internal dialogue.
In other words, they didn't think in verbal terms(words)-they simply FELT things!

When confronted with facts they dont like or cant accept, they get angry because they can't differentiate between a threat to themselves & a threat to their view of reality. They just feel threatened.

This explains alot; some of us are trying to have civil debates & educate others who are simply not equipped to engage in debate in a coherent manner.

I've never cursed at anyone, but it seems to be what conservatives love to do most. Funny thing is that they often claim to be Christian, but their actions reveal them to be poor practitioners of the faith they profess to love.
Never doubt that the GOP has studied how to cause maximal fear in their target audience, as they know fear short circuits rational thought.
This effectively makes them into what I call "pod people "!
They scream & point at anyone who DARES to disagree!

That's why I'm saying anyone who claims to be a Christian really need to act so not just in Sundays inside a church. There's a saying I like. If anyone was to accuse you of being a Christian what sort evidence would convict you? So what does POD mean? I agree with you that people tend to internalize and make opinions so personal that anyone who disagrees is seen as attacking them as a person. That's why I believe they react the way they do.
