From what I understand, the green new deal requires us to fully or mostly phase out fossil fuels and replace them with green energy. That in and of itself is not a bad idea, but there are two major problems with the deal that acts as it’s Achilles Heel. The first is that we need to fully phase out fossil fuels in like 10 years or something (I could be wrong, correct me if I am). The second problem is that we have nowhere near the right amount of green energy infrastructure to even begin to phase out fossil fuels. Again, this is based on what I know, and I haven’t done a whole lot of research about it to really make an informed opinion on it.
