i don't trust the legacy media, but i'm pretty sure breaking news came around later because technology had evolved for news networks to stream live footage of events
@MyrianWaffleEV - when news was a half hour or an hour each night instead of 24/7 then news was just news, but now there is a lot of filler. Therefore when something is really new, that is breaking news. At least this is my theory.
