Too true a stereotype for hipsters seems too true many times and it feels the same when you hear a hipster speak their differences it's the same categories.
It's like people who say they are quirky and awkward and say they were that shy person. But when you hear them talk for days and act friendly like it was nothing makes it easy to claim bullshit.
To be honest, in a matter of years it will be too hard when a person tries to do something new to be different only to be called out that another person has done it. Like my favorite thing to say "That no matter what there will always be a person who will do it better."
