Exactly, BurntFingerForge, and it is not only a dangerous practice to blur the distinctions but the idea is dismissive toward those legal immigrants who have worked hard to become real citizens.

Agreed. I have felt for years that had the Democrats attempted to serve their voters there would be no need for them to seek illegals as replacement voters.

Of course. I just think that a lot of times being anti illegal simmers over into anti immigrant. But I agree wholly.

The media makes anti illegal and anti immigration look like close cousins but the issue is complex. When I was stationed in Arizona, many of the Mexican Americans treated the illegals like crap, they blamed every crime and problem on them, many resented all the work they had to do to become legal.

We have a Republican President, you still have a right to disagree, that might change someday.
