A wise man said that thinking you're saving daylight with daylight savings time is like trying to grow a foot taller by cutting off your head and standing on it.

Benjamin Franklin invented it for the benefit of farmers. In his day, it WAS necessary.

Now, not so much.

Ben Franklin inventing it was a misconception, so was the idea some bug collector in New Zealand created it. As for farmers...they work from before sunrise to after sunset every day. Time doesn6matter to animals and crops.

I don't' know who enjoys complete darkness at 4:30 PM. I vote we eliminate Standard Time!

Daylight gets shorter, daylight gets longer......been doing this long before man invented timekeeping.

Agreed, it's all arbitrary, but driving home in the dark sucks. And since we have control, we can just eliminate Standard Time because it sucks.

Do you know how many extra barrels of oil we burn with daylight savings? I guess you guys would be happy with those poor oil barons starving to death.

Really, I don't get the concept. The summer season already has the longest days. Why do they need to be longer? If anything, do it the other way around and get more daylight for the short winter days.
