Some people is saying Trump is going to be a dictator and such. Yet the same ones squawking about Trump behaving like past dictators are the same ones saying guns should be banned. Are these people a special kind of stupid? The government doesn't want to ban guns to save lives because if they cared about saving lives they would ban alcohol. Here is a few warnings from the past proving the undeniable importance of the Second Amendment.
There is a reason the Japs during WW2 said they would be met with a gun behind every blade of grass if they invaded the US.
There is a reason Niccolo Machiavelli said, "Among other evils which being unarmed brings you, it causes you to be despised".
There is a reason why every atrocity throughout history was perpetrated by armed troops against unarmed civilians.
The reason is obvious. History proves the undeniable importance of having an armed populace. The only ones who will deny this are greedy greasy politicians who want to more easily control you. They fear an armed population. When the government fears the people there is liberty but when the people fears the government there is tyranny.
Yes, unfortunately, there will be people who will abuse this right. But as Thomas Jefferson said, "I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery". Because freedom in it's finest form will be dangerous. Humanity is not perfect and anyone is foolish for believing things will be better if certain freedoms were banned. You will not have freedom, you will not even have peace, you will only have an illusion of it. Freedom does carry a great deal of danger with it. But the greatest danger is the threat of that freedom being taken away.
People have forgotten these bitter lessons of history. The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime routinely do. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.
