That's true but God is about free will and the battle of good vs evil. If God destroyed Satan, he'd be no better than a tyrant and it would dismantle His case against sin to those that are watching. Someone else could probably word it better than I.

Let me put it like this, if i were to say to someone that something that you were doing was wrong and would lead to ruin and then before that came to fruition, i shot you, the person that i told that to would doubt the truth of my statement as i preemptively stopped you before it panned out.
Like I said, there are some that believe that this world is a lesson to other beings that good will ultimately prevail over evil and if God steps in and destroys Satan and his lies before the right time, that would discredit God and his free will and truth.
I assume you'll scoff at that but it makes me think of all the prophets in the Bible, most died in horrible manners but what is even 100 years of pain compared with eternity without it. Like I said, it's been awhile since i studied it so others could put it much better.
