Who cares about imgflip.com/points ?

I don't really care about the points, but it makes for a fun joke.

How hard would it be to have IMGFLIP actually make a FAQ page about "how many points you get when____" ?

Good question, I think a FAQ page has been suggested by several users. Before I was a MOD, I thought about making a wiki page offsite with info on several imgflip topics, including points.

One challenge to either an Imgflip FAQ page or an off-site user maintained page would be that time and effort is needed to maintain the resource if and when the site changes, which probably happens more frequent than most users realize.

I've seen that yes. But I also clicked on your link above. IMGFLIP could have just added it to THAT page. Instead they use words like "points" and "lot of points" and "small number of points"...

And newbies have no way of knowing imgflip.com/points even exists unless they are on this meme! :)

Views count, but not for points. The number of views has a very small effect on the ranking of a creation in Hot.

Sometimes imgflip creations with lots of views and low upvotes are also displayed on other social media sites. Views there are counted here.
