are you comparing god, a supernatural being which does as he pleases and is without moral or ethical bounds, to humans?

Humans follow a moral creed that "thou shalt not murder" which god told us to follow.

abortion and infanticide are both murderous actions, we should avoid them.

1) sure, call him a dictator if you will

2) we should still not murder. Because if what I say is correct, then by refusing to murder, we are morally superior, yes? unless you don't like morality and prefer to murder the innocent.

3) I don't really care WHAT you are, I just like calling you out for your blatant ignorance's.

Just noticed that the guy who replied to this comment with the "that would be great" meme deleted shortly after I've triumpfed over his rather non-existent logic. Though I'd let you know and have a nice laugh.

Why not? Abrahamic religions are absolutely putrid and disgusting. Bashing them is perfectly reasonable

It doesn't matter how old it is. Comments can sometimes appear on memes several months old. A poor way to avoid an argument,man... Also read when the meme was made, and then realize how ignorant that sentence you wrote is.

Octavia was on a roll exposing Yahweh for what a monter he is,and then you just came and said "Ummm, yeah,if you could just not bash christianity and judaism, ummm, that'd be,like, great" Again,I ask,why not? If you have read the Bible, and were not able to figure out that it's abominable and full of shit, you have either slept over most of the book,or you are just as a bilnd believer as you are programmed to be.

And if reading the Bible isn't enough, try reading the history of Christianity, and see just what and how much was done "in the name of God and Lord Jesus Christ" Inquisition is just one of the many,MANY monstrocities done in the name of Christianity. Genocides, crusades, violent convertions and persecutions, supression of science and the evolution of human consciousness, the list goes on,and on,and on,and on...

I can literally believe in whatever the heck I want to... I don’t bash Islam just because I don’t believe in it and i think some parts of it may be corrupt. But hating a group of people because of what their ancestors did? Really? And yes I did read the Bible with my eyes WIDE open. I’m sure you did too, but you didn’t open your mind. The month+ thing is called a hyperbole, not ignorance. Also, learn how to use commas correctly.

Just because you can believe in something doesn't mean you should. Do you think people should believe in Santa Claus, for example,or that they should follow the Order(a cult from Silent Hill series)?

Islam, too,is an Abrahamic religion,so any problem that Judeo-Christianity has,Islam has it as well.

Hate? Please. That nonsense is for reptillian-brain,unevolved humans only. I'm just telling the Truth, the way it is,and not the way I or anyone else think or believe it is or should be like.

Oh,you've read the Bible? Well, that's a rather pleasant surprise! You should know that the Bible you have read is not the same one that was written 2000 years ago. It was changed multiple times thoughout the course of it's existence(mostly by Vatican),all for the purposes of mind control and slavery. For example,in 553 AD,every verse in the Bible mentioning reincarnation was removed, and the entire doctrine was replaced with Heaven and Hell. This was done by Byzantine emperor Justinian and his empress Theodora.

Furthermore,Talmud(Old Testament),is brimming with Jewish supremacism, and saying how non-Jews are like animals, and should be treated like slaves.I can't remember the exact quotes, but I'm certain you can do some research on your own. After all, that's the best and most effective way of gaining knowledge.

There are some other things that,in modern civilization, would be unacceptable, like that one quote from Deuteronomy that says that if a rapist rapes a woman and gets caught doing it,he pays the woman's father 50 units of money(can't remember which ones, but I think it's silver nuggets,or something like that) and then, the rapist and the woman must be married and must never divorce.

Also, there are quite a lot of plagiarisms in the Bible, from verses to entire stories. Here's an example:
Luke 17:21 'People will not be able to say, "Look, here it is!" or "There it is! That is because the kingdom of God is inside you.'
Egyptian Proverb(long before the Bible's existence): "The kingdom of heaven, the Kingdom of God is within you; and whosoever shall know himself shall find it."
Hindu proverb: “If God wished to hide, He would choose man to hide in, that is the last place a man would look for God.”

To be continued...

Which means you got through the two most disgusting books of the Bible:Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Congratulations! I don't think I'd endure the psychological torture.

Hey,if you have 'bout a half an hour to spare, you'll enjoy this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KNik8niSrrY

For me,lifting the false veils of religion(both Christianity and government),felt like Neo's trip down the rabbit hole: it was hard and painful, but I don't regret it a single bit. And ultimatelly,it did make me very strong(metallly and spiritually,I mean).

As for an example of a plagiarized story,I shall choose the story of Pandora's box from the Greek mythology. Here's how it goes:Zeus created a beautiful woman out of clay, called her Pandora, and married her to Epimetheus. As a wedding gift,Zeus gave them a locked box(though some myths say it was a jar) on which was written "DO NOT OPEN", and he also gave them a key to the said box.One day, though,Pandora's curiosity got ahead of her,so she opened the box,and from the box came all the evil thing upon the world, such as envy, hate, greed and jealousy. Now,reading this story, you cannot possibly deny the similarity to the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden from Genesis, can't you?

And if an example of a verse and an example of a story aren't enough, then how about an entire person? If you've seen the picture on this comment, you'll see that there are up to five people from varuous mythologies that were just like Jesus, all several centuries older than him. If you're sceptic about this, you can freely use the Google, and see what's right.

Here are some times the Bible goes all over the place havong no clue what does it mean: https://infidels.org/library/modern/donald_morgan/contradictions.html

And about the hyperbole,touché.

Certainly there are hypocrisies in what we call "The Bible" which is really just a collection of short books. That said, there are also truths contained within. I both believe in a higher power and that life should be treated with respect, born or unborn, including even other species. Now how this manifests in my ideals and that of a fundamentalist would be two different things, some of which would be overlapping, others might be vastly differing.

I agree that the Bible isn't perfectly accurate - it's a game of telephone over several centuries haha We aren't perfect, but we try to follow the God who is. Appreciate you defending your beliefs as well as mine.
1 up, 6y
Yes, "The Bible" is not inerrant, though there are some golden nuggets in there to take home. Trying to"follow who God is" yes I also agree is a good idea. In my understanding it's best to not try to do that through books alone, which has become another form of idolatry. God has been attributed to some of the most egregious acts in history, including, genocide of a whole group of people. I don't believe this is true but actually an expression of tribalism. However there are many who will fervently defend this victors telling of history as to fail to do otherwise would cause cognitive dissonance. Unfortunately or fortunately we have to think for ourselves and the uncomfortableness and dangers that come with it.
