1K kind of seems like a rite of passage. Perhaps meme comments/replies attract more upvotes and comments...

I have seen quite a few people say that they do not up vote text only comments. Which to me, is a bit unfair. Because we all know that we couldn't meme in comments until we were up voted to that specific milestone. But yeah. Many do not up vote text only comments.

If only people would show a little more empathy.

Heck, it would be sympathy more than anything.

They think it's lazy. I think it's harsh to be that way. Silly actually.

It does, maybe it's because you can get more creative with pictures...it's definitely easier to get a conversation going that way...sometimes I wonder if the 1000 threshold is to test people to see if they're serious about it; like "are you sure you know what you're getting into?"

I wouldn't be surprised. Experience is the best way to wisdom, after all.

It's more about your activity in comments when it comes to the points. The more you comment the more points you accumulate in a shorter time frame.

I lived there a long time. Beautiful place. Form my experience, people there are generally nice. (May be a side effect of being close to Canada). Although the rain make people irritable sometimes.

Thing that Canadians did to avoid high gas prices was to literally fill the back car with jerrycans, go to the cheapest gas station near them in the US, and fill up both their car and the jerrycans, and then drive back. Amazingly, they actually saved a lot of money.
