You are assuming that all those downvotes were placed by people who participate in the political stream.
Octavia has been here a lot longer than the political stream was instituted.
Maybe his friends from across the whole spectrum of imgflip saw he was being wrongly? accused of something and downvoted that persons memes and comments without even reading them?
That is more likely the case than righties having to worry about lefties outnumbering them on this site.
