Also makes abortion illegal will just popularize illegal abortions leading to more deaths from the mother.

Sure, but pointing out exceptions does not invalidate the practice. Suggesting that abortion is for people whose condoms were defective is analogous to saying that that we all must have the latest gen smartphone with unlimited text and data in case of an emergency.

With a modicum of preparation and responsibility, we as a society could reduce, drastically, unwanted pregnancies, STD's and wipe out any practical argument for churches and the morally sanctimonious in their attempts to regulate our bedrooms and our sexuality.
