Since I don't believe in the apostles creed, I wouldn't recite it, either

That's...kind of the point. He doesn't believe it. Any of it. But he still gives the necessary lip service to Evangelicals to keep their votes.

Based on your meme, I don't think you know what it means to be a Christian

Based on their votes, I'd say the majority of Evangelicals don't know either.

I'm not taking about evangelicals or how they vote. I'm talking about you, your meme, and the fact that it provides lies about what it means to be a Christian.

I didn't say we were waiting for him to BE a Christian, I said we were waiting for him to SHOW it. The meme says nothing about whether he is one; it says there's no proverbial fruit. And if there's one basic way to show it, it's to just say, specifically, what you believe.

There's a lot of other stuff on the list of "things Trump says/does that aren't consistent with the Christian faith", but I only have so much space in a meme.

Yeah but you specifically made your statement focused on him not reciting the apostles creed. I don't want people to get the idea that not reciting the apostles creed means you're not a Christian.

That's fair. The format of memes doesn't exactly lend itself to nuance :) If one believes the words, it shouldn't be an issue to say them when prompted to in a public setting. I don't know what their reasoning was for abstaining from what should be the most basic of actions to publicly affirm their faith.

As I'm snarky and jump at the chance to make jokes about him, though, I'm going between "He can't actually read, and forced Melania to do it with him so he didn't feel bad about it" and "He can't speak those words in a church without angering the devil, who he made a deal with to get the Presidency."

Ha, I like the Melenia one

The Apostles Creed specifically states "I believe in the Catholic church". Maybe they don't want to support institutionalized pedophilia???

The National Cathedral follows the Episcopal tradition. They don't capitalize "catholic", so the phrase "the holy catholic Church" includes all Christians, not just Roman Catholics.

Right, so words and words and profession and more words instead of actions are what define Christianity. Oops.

I don't see any action either...
