Ronald Reagan refused to endorse his bid till AFTER George Herbert Walker Bush Sr (R.I.P) won the primaries.
The Republican base yelled, "Wimp factor," and said he would be inept and weak with foreign policy, despite his tenure as Vice President, Ambassador to China, oh, and former head of an obscure org called the CIA.
The GOP hated the Americans with Disability Act, the Clean Air Act, desire to reach across the table, Thousand Points of Light. They used his having to raise taxes to plug the plunging hole that senile fetid pussbag Reagan made with his record breaking spending policies to vote for Ross Perot with his cute football pie charts instead, or that corn syrup coated hunk of a sex mad crook they dubbed a Republican-in-disguise, Bill Clinton.
They forgot Bush was everything that actor Cowboy Ron was not - quick decisive wars wins, stabilizing Ron's economic mess and his Savings and Loan crisis, and oversaw the end of Communism in the USSR and the Cold War (which somehow Reagan took credit for because he said, "Tear down this wall" in a speech once then went home to joke about bombing Russia).
The Republican Party from top to bottom betrayed George HW Bush, making him a one term President, and they did the same to Bob Dole in '96 by voting for Bill Clinton instead yet again.
Then they had the audacity to cite his legacy in 2000 to elect that party puppet dingbat, George W Buch - the most idiotic President the USA ever had before lowering the bar even ridiculously further with Trump. You know, the grumpy not-center-of-attention at Bush's funeral. "Thousand points of light? What does that mean hurr hurr" *Trumpites roar*
If you were American and/or alive then you would know all this.
In the meantime, the man is dead, show a little respect and tell it like it was, not some revisionist bullshit you bots got scripted to you in St Petersburg.
Damn flock of vampiric back stabbing traitors.
