What REAL voter suppression looks like.

Idk how many hunters in ND would actually believe a random facebook ad... but nevertheless, yes, this does look like an attempt at voter suppression.

In ND, a rep won a slim margin last time largely because of a high turnout of Native Americans. In order to prevent that form happening again, they just passed a law that a numbered street address would be needed to vote. Thing is, the reservations are rural, no street addresses, so they had always used PO boxes.

Native Councils are rushing to make ID cards with addresses for them, but won't be able to meet the demand. Printing machines got so hot, the cards started melting as they were made!
Just yesterday, a court stated in response to an ACLU suit that the requirement was unjust and alarming, but it was too close to the voting date to change it.

THAT'S voter suppression.

Your info on the Native American voter suppression via voter ID with street addresses also could be voter suppression. It makes me wonder about something else though.. how about the super poor? ie: homeless.. Can they vote? How do you vote with no address?

I meant that that's indication that it's fake. No actual party, or real group would sponsor that. If it there was anything behind the hoax, the bots here would have posted an endless stream of memes about it.

The street address law was in ND. They probably wouldn't mind those others not voting either.

Why? It seems to be an actual group. Based on what I read, they were formed when 2 parties combined. Snopes and various news sites says the claim being made in the ad is false, but the existence of the ad (and sponsor) appears to be real. But its interesting repubs seem to sh** on voter suppression up until it happens on their side.. l'm sure this one instance will make the 10,000 bot accounts a wash. It happens on both sides!

Yes, I didn't look into it, just seems odd for a legit org to actually do, not just in terms of getting busted, but also possible legal ramifications if any apply.

Seems like it is possible for the poor, but more difficult? Second answer says many shelters will give vouchers to waive the cost of a license/ID. As far as the reservation goes I agree it does sound like either voter suppression or a royal f**kup by people who weren't thinking things through.. needs to be fixed ASAP.

Heitkamp actually endorsed the add, so that might add some believability to it, though apparently virtually every game official in the state that's been talked to says it is all nonsense and that nobody will lose their license if they vote

Thats f**king cruel. The right and voter suppression. No day off to vote in many red states, so the statistically more likely to have a job where you cant get off and also likely to vote blue minorities cannot vote. I mean both sides gerrymander, but the right does most of the voter suppression.
