Especially in a small office, it would be best to let the tech support guy in on the joke. He'll figure it out eventually and be REALLY PISSED at having spent up to 2 hours swapping the keyboard twice, plugging the user's keyboard into different USB sockets, uninstalling any programs the user installed, running malware scans, rebooting multiple times, uninstalling recent software updates, reinstalling them, checking the server for malware, etc.
And at some point it will get to "Oh, crap! They've been at it so long I better not say anything or I could get in trouble!"
