Here's what Megyn Kelly said that stirred up the shitstorm:
""But what is racist? You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on white face for Halloween?" she asked her panel. "That was OK when I was a kid, as long as you were dressing like a character."
She made the mistake of apologizing for it, with quite a good apology, just a few hours afterwards, but apologies are never enough for NPCs, and just add fuel to the fire. "See, she admits she did something bad!", and now she's fired and dropped by her agent, and people are giving her grief for benefiting from the non-break clause in her contract with NPC... I mean NBC.
I don't know how far she was into her contract, but it was a 3 year deal for $69 million dollars, and despite the social "outrage", nobody can legitimately prove she did anything out of line to enable them to void the contract, and it's pissing them off. NPCs are calling it an outrage that she's getting that money.
As for Sarah, I may have overstated slightly with "beloved", hard to say really, but Disney sure likes her, having brought her back for Wreck-It Ralph 2. She's certainly not in any bad odor with the leftist hypocrites, and what she did was FAR more worth being fired over than what Megyn did.
I'm sure Disney would drop her in a heartbeat if the left brought up a fuss over her blackface performance, but the left won't do that because she's a woman and she toes the line, so her fame gives her a loud voice.
