I always hear this same old jargen. "Well, the conservatives do it, too, so they're all bad." The problem with this argument is that while we (conservatives) did not like Barack Obama or anything he stood for, we were not acting in the same fashion as the left is acting over President Trump. The level of insanity the left is showing goes far beyond anything I have ever seen in my lifetime and I've been around during the Reagan Presidency.

It's on the level of outright disgusting behavior. Yes, we conservatives fought against Obama's policies and spoke out against them and in some rare cases acted a little nuts, but the level of genuine stupidity comes mostly from the left. And the whole Kavanaugh ordeal just basically sealed the deal for the republicans come November. And they're still shooting themselves in the foot.

Perspective dude. My party is bad but not as bad as that other party. What do you like about Kavanaugh besides that your party tells you he will be good

I don't need a party to tell me what to believe. I, like many others, have a set of beliefs. If someone has generally the same set of beliefs, I'll support them. No one that I know of has exactly the same set of beliefs as I do 100% of the time, but those who have the closest to mine, I support.

One of the biggest things that Kavanaugh believes that closely mirrors mine is his stance on abortion. That right there alone is reason enough for me to support the guy.

You want to abolish abortion?

That would be the dream, but I'm not ignorant enough to think that it will be. I would like to have it severely curbed.
[deleted]

Curbed how? Or are you just against your tax dollars paying for some of them?

I'm against abortion, period, but would like to not have my tax dollars going toward Planned Parenthood. Also, I would like to have the cut off date abortions would be legal. Example, instead of being able to abort your child at 20 weeks, pushing it back to 15 weeks or earlier.

But planned parenthood most likely saves more of your tax dollars.

I would hate to see the Republican reaction if they lost Whitehouse while winning the popular vote. Shudder

I also curious. They would definitely get deservedly angry. I only Bush and Trump winning off of it not Liberals.

Don't be naive. The right will get as salty or even saltier. Deservedly, as popular vote should decide the election. Only a few would be unaffected.

Obama didn't get elected losing the popular vote. Be introspective. Republicans called Obama a Muslim and said he wasn't born in the U.S. There wasn't as much hate on Obama because he was relatively moderate and didn't say ridiculously inept things like Trump.

Trump has said rude, racist, and sexist things. Obama has never said anything close to grab em by the pussy or a Latino judge is based against him. And no the liberals would complain either way JUST LIKE THE CONSERVATIVES they are as screechy as the libs in a more masculine way. I can clarify that I am an independent. Both parties hold way too much resentment, conservatives and liberals.

Okay you knit picking I originally meant to say that both parties complain and that the majority republicans won't just say oh well that's how the system is. Almost no Republican or Democrat would say that.

Just because you are a respectable person all the Republicans are. There are also democrats who didn't protest and howl at Trump winning.

You said "Because the world view and personality of most Republicans" that is the very definition of speaking for others. I am done interacting with you and I am sure you will think it is because of your logic. It actually is, but I just a lack of it though. You can have the last word. Go

Republican here, I would be fine with it. We live in a republic, that's how it works. Sounds like you are just trying to make excuses. Also 3 million votes is less than 1% of the us population so you aren't really doing yourself favors by harping on it. You BARELY won the popular vote and got absolutely smashed electorally. Pretty clear cut really. You lost, and badly.
2 ups, 6y
Many Republicans are sensible like many Democrats. Don't turn a blind eye to the ragers in your party. If you lost many Republicans would go nutso screaming about illegals voting and crooked Hillary. Trump said that even when he won. Have you seen Trump rallies. Those people, the Trumpist part of the Republican party would go mad about how they were cheated.

Where am I making excuses? Never claimed Trump wasn't my president. I have voted both ways. Those that only see good on one side and only see bad in the other side have been indoctrinated. Nothing can be learned from those type people IMO.

I have voted both ways myself, but that was before one party decided that public harassment, riots, and intimidation were the way to enact change. Democrats have lost me as a voter, probably forever. I've never seen so many adults act like spoiled children before.

I know this will sound odd but if Bill Shorten has the keys to the lodge in Canberra next year then hopefully he'll either be impeached or wasted
