That's too cute. An idealist. Policy and reasoning? That's fools gold. It doesn't work that way but nice try. It doesn't make a bit of difference what they say or promise or what they've done or could do. While they're running you are nothing more than a statistic. You're data. You're a demographic. You aren't a person. You're a vote and they'll say whatever they're told to say to get you to vote for them. All they care about is the win. If you vote any other way than dem or repub you throw your vote away. If there's a third party and you vote for them you're only helping the one that was probably going to lose until they hired a third to play in the big rigged game. It's all rigged. A republican or a democrat will always win. Both repubs and dems are then told what to do by the rich people that paid for them to be there while finding new ways to get and keep your tax dollars.
If you thought it was about voting your conscience good for you. If everyone voted their conscience, though, a repub or a dem would still win. If everyone swore they wouldn't vote and no one showed up at the voting stations the candidate with the biggest family and fan base would win. The people that actually run our country want as many people as possible to keep believing that.
I research the primary Dems and Repubs and vote for the one with the best written and provable resume. So do the mass majority of the people that vote. You can throw your vote away if you want. I'm not going to.
