I got that bullshit "phishing site" notice last night on the same site, and I use Firefox! I was shocked that the message was from Google! Damn thing made me verify that I wasn't a robot twice!

I'm sad it's affecting even the little guys like imgflip. I hope our mods understand this is not a good thing. We've got to let them know we aren't happy.

The deep state is very desperate.

I've been thinking the exact same thing.

Did you know imgflip servers are in California?

Politics being separate was meant to reduce the amount of censorship, not increase it. If politics is on the homepage, then we are forced to censor it to the point that it is not offensive to half the world and therefore damaging to the overall Imgflip brand/community. But if politics has its own page (linked to on the homepage, I might add), then we can allow posts to stay featured that are much more controversial and borderline. Hopefully this change will allow for more debates between the various political ideologies.

Also, Imgflip's servers are spread across all major countries in the world, at least 50+ locations. And the only servers that are centralized are actually in Oregon, not California ;)

I do not believe the result will be less censorship. This is clearly a step toward further censorship. I am skeptical of how enjoyable the site will be from this point forward. I am giving it a chance, but I have serious doubts. With all due respect, the proposition that this is somehow about damage to the brand/ community is highly suspect considering that the popularity of the site has prospered in spite of the negative nature of many political dialogues. If respect for the site/ brand is a goal, than it is far more effective to support the principles of freedom...free expression and unity (to name but a few) than to compromise these with censorship, segregation, and regulation of how and where people express their ideas. Thank you for reading.

Honestly, the only memes that should be removed are the ones depicting (bestiality, child, snuff) porn, and the creators and those who upvoted them should be investigated. Adult porn (if it involves consenting adults) can go in NSFW or a separate ADULT designation.

I'm not suggesting that IMGFLIP has any of the types of memes I listed, but I'm sure that there are creeps out there that would try to upload templates like that and post memes with them.

Thanks for letting me know about the server location. I've been threatened with legal action that only works in California and they guy claimed the servers are located there so his legal junk would be valid. I knew he was full of it, but now I really know.

I disagree with your statement about reducing censorship. Sure, we can post whatever we want, but nobody will see it anyway. By separating us from the masses our memes have no weight, no purpose. We've been placed behind a curtain so that nobody will see our memes. That's censorship. Clever censorship, but still censorship.

Please set the homepage to a "view all memes" option. Let people customize their experience on their own.

A little disturbing that a mod quickly jumped in to do damage control on our conversation. But, they admitted to some interesting information--that mods can send your meme back to submitted status (at their own discretion, I'll bet) and that they were censoring political memes that made it to the homepage. Running the servers from Oregon does not make me feel any better about who's running them. #demonrats.

lol I was thinking the same thing about Oregon. At least the mod is being civil. The trolls have been telling me I should take my tin foil hat and leave imgflip. How is that not playing into the censorship agenda?

I recently had one troll leaving vicious comments on every meme I was making, and he was the only one commenting. Called me all sorts of vile names and made memes mocking my looks, age, intelligence, or that I was just polar bear crap. Now, I get a little antsy checking IMGFLIP because I don't want to see any more of his comments. I've flagged and reported him multiple times and nothing is done, as far as I know. He only seems to disappear for a few weeks when I say I'll pray for him. Makes me wonder about demons and what's going on now. But if I talk about anything to do with religion (especially the concept of demons), a whole 'nother set of trolls come out of the woodwork to mock my faith. Kavanaugh is right, this is the Twilight Zone.

Very same thing toward me on Facecrap. When I pressured them to reveal if they WORKED for Facecrook, they disappeared! The entire conversation stream was also deleted.. no history of it. (re-folds his tin foil.. adjusts the headband..)

Given the deeply embedded nature of G0Og|3 with the Imgflip interface, and the difficulty of discovering who actually owns and is behind this "for profit" endeavor, I suspect it's predominately a learning test bed for algorithmic intelligence (or artificial intelligence) and that we are teaching it, just a little bit at a time, and that some deep pockets are creating the underpinnings.

It's also a way for BIASED intellect (power) to get an inside track on the mindset of those that aren't so easily led astray to swallow the absurd cool-aid of the libtard media and politicians.. so... this place is a double edged sword potentially, eh?

Well over a decade ago, StockTwits was incorporating AI to conduct "chats" with traders posting ideas on those forums. Some of the artificial responses was very convincing... but if one voiced a differing "opinion" than the general consensus being presented on any specific stock forum at large, they got themselves tossed for being a "troll". Yes. Censorship.

So for now, there is some mysterious "profit" to be made from this ImgFlip interface, and for now, viewpoints that run counter to the bullshit of Pelosi, CNN, et al are being tolerated, but it remains to be seen for how long.

Question: How many times have you created what you deem to be an AWESOME meme, with a strong political statement, to have it idle in pergatory before finally being posted, and then to only get "45 views"?? Yeah... silly me.. it's just a "bug" in the software.

;-]

So.. I dunno! Time will tell.. meanwhile, we can continue to joust with those libtards that have five or six alt accounts each! :)

They couldn't silence us with the troll accounts so they separated us from everyone. Resist. Demand "All Memes" as default.

I've been hitting people with this. We have to resist. Unleash the memes. This is a serious problem.

I think it also makes it easier for the trolls to target certain memes and downvote them back into submitted status.
I've shared some memes on Twitter, but they don't go far there either. Shadowbanned.

Memes cannot be downvoted into submitted anymore (changed a couple months ago). This can only happen by moderator intervention due to violation of terms or rules.
