I like separating politics from the fun stuff. But I don't like separating the reposts. There's only so many ideas out there, and even though something's been done before, doesn't mean someone can't have a good time posting it again. But having this separate stream will mean they'll mostly get ignored. :/

"repost" here means a literal copy-paste of an entire image from elsewhere, which is something we try to keep off the homepage entirely. So this is not meant to be a separation, but rather an outlet for something that was previously not allowed at all. Slight tweaks on old jokes are totally fine in the fun stream.

But yea, we'll certainly be evolving streams as we learn how people use them.

Thanks for the clarification! That sounds reasonable. I just hate to see people, especially newer users get frustrated and quit if they are posting things that have been posted before. I generally try and do my own original stuff, but sometimes don't have time and find something and tweak it a bit, but only if it wasn't recently posted here. But that's good to know

Hey JB, good points. Things are moving fast in terms of site changes and upgrades. I'm glad you commented and happy to hear your thoughts on on this new meme stream. Some tweaks to the new setup are probably coming soon.

I doubt there'll be a lot of politics here...political memes wear out quickly...this will likely be for more timeless stuff.

I basically agree with this. But who knows? Maybe people will come visit it. We can hope for the best.

Also, people define reposts differently. For example, if you take an idea you see, but add something, or put your own spin on it, there comes a point when it's different enough from the original that it may not be accurate to call it a repost, strictly speaking.

I like having this stream. Sometimes I see something on the internet that is too good not to share. I think people may be underestimating the visits to this category

I like it too, I'm seeing some memes in here for the first time.

When I do a straight repost, (without changing it), I only do it in the comments on memes. Sometimes some older memes just seem to fit perfect as a comment, and it’s just easier and quicker than trying to alter it To try to make it your own. I think a repost stream will be rarely visited by most memers, (like myself) because we will assume most of them we’ve already seen. I don’t think it’s a really good idea. And hey, while I’m putting my two cents in, if you are putting a separate politics stream up, how about a “religious” stream also? It seems to go hand in hand with the subjects you’re not supposed to talk about... ; )

I like the idea of a "religious" stream too.

I recycle stuff for comments all the time. The religion stream is a good idea. :)

Be sure to uncheck the NSFW box if you don't want to see those. If a creation still shows up after that and it's questionable, use the flag and a moderator will review that content. Hope that helps.

It's still at yesterday's level of up to 2 submissions for the fun stream. The question (someone else asked too) is under discussion. :)

Last night I submitted a couple reposts and I happened to notice that even after they feature they don't show they have featured on my submissions therefore bringing my feature percentage down I wasn't sure if the mods have noticed that or not or if that's how it's supposed to be so I thought I would bring that to your attention

In the old site configuration when posting to the old meme streams, neither the images nor comments would show in your profile, and your featured rate was not affected by those posts.

From what I saw, when the featured streams first went live, they were much like the old meme streams, the images you submitted and comments you made didn't show in your profile. Visibility for comments was turned on shortly after the featured streams went live. Pretty sure getting your stream submissions visible in your profile is in the works though.

How do you repost memes in imgflip? I'm trying to find out how to repost one of my first memes.

1) On a PC right click the image you want to use or touch and hold the image on a phone, there should be an option to download the image.

2) Use that image in the imgflip meme generator or wherever you want to post it. In the imgflip meme generator, you don't have to add captions for memes (but you do for meme comments).

3) Use the "Go to image page" button, edit the image title, add at least one tag. Another way to get to any of your image pages imgflip.com/creations

4) hit the "Submit this image to the Imgflip community" button, pick repost from the dropdown list, check the "I Certify..." box, and hit the last Submit Image button there.
